These are samples of student work with technology. We've used iPads, Chromebooks and Mac desktop computers to collaborate, share our learning in an engaging way, and to take formative assessments throughout the year.
Student Samples
My students have used (and loved!) Shadow Puppets to create slideshows to present their animal research. They're able to choose photos, type on the photos, record their voices, and so much more! We incorporated informational writing with this use of technology. Click HERE to view a sample project.

Over the last couple of years we've experimented with the green screen app called DoInk. For example, we've used it as a platform for students to create their own videos based on their biographies. This app is another favorite! Click HERE for an example biography completed with DoInk.

One of the first projects my second graders worked on this year was creating a poster with the app PicCollage. Collaborating with a partner, the students had to research caribou on our iPads using sites that included KidRex and Facts For Me, and Kiddle. They worked together to create a fact board to present to other groups of second graders in an effort to share their learning.
My class LOVES Formative to show what they know. We've been using this for math the most so I am able to receive real time results that easily provide feedback to my students and can guide my instruction. Not only is this type of assessment engaging (students can complete short answer questions, multiple choice, and they can draw) but it's extremely effective. To the right is a screen shot of a recent math formative assessment.

My students absolutely love everything Google! They've worked very hard learning Google Classroom, Google Docs and Google Slides this year. They've accessed assignments, published writing projects, created Google Slide presentations, and so much more! Click HERE for some examples. One of our favorite Google resources is from Sailing Into Second. She has the best templates for Google and my students have so much fun collaborating with this resource!
